Bantam Cochins
We have finally started rebuilding our breeding flock of
Bantam Cochins. After loosing nearly every Cochin to a family
of raccoons back in the summer of 2007, I was so devistated, I
felt I would never breed, show or have Cochins again. We are
very pleased to have purchased a pair of blue and black
Mottled from Karl Rau that has recently produced many
beautiful chicks. We also purchased a lovely, young black pair
that have been added to the two black hens from Karl Rau, as
well as a blue splash cockerel and a blue pullet from Shari at
Harvest Breeze Farm. Thanks again Shari, they are really
amazing birds! Then about a year later, were also fortunate
enough to purchase Karl Rau's last two available cockerels
when he sold all of his Cochins. We got a blue cockerel (top
left corner) and a buff cockerel, both just stunning! We are
looking for a buff hen to pair with the cockerel. Finally, we
have two males and a female white Bantam Cochin from Judy
Gantt. Judy is a master breeder of whites and of course we
are thrilled to also own some of her birds! Needless to say,
those are of course amazing birds as well! I am very excited
to start working with all of these wonderful lines and looking
forward to the challenge of trying to maintain the quality that
these breeders have worked so hard to obtain. We also have
added some blue mottled and black mottled Cochins from
Hattrick as well as a really cute splash frizzle roo! Thanks to
all of the wonderful breeders for helping us get back on our
feet with our Cochin breeding.
Our first batch of Cochins back in 2004. These are pet
quality and not at all like what we are working with now.
