There are two breeds of Ameraucana chickens, the large fowl and bantam type. Both breeds are very similar other than their size. There are eight color varieties recognized in both bantam and large fowl. The eight color varieties are black, blue, buff, white, blue wheaten, brown red, silver and wheaten. Ameraucanas lay blue eggs. These are not to be confused with Easter Eggers which are mixed breeds that may also lay blue or tinted eggs and are not recognized breeds by the APA or ABA. Our Ameraucanas of from show quality stock from reputable breeders around the United States. Our birds are bred according to the breed standard with the exception of the lavender and splash which are not yet accepted colors in the Ameraucana breed standard. We also breed for a rich blue egg color.
